911爆料网 President Alan W. Cramb to DJ, Kick Off University Virtual Dance Party
CHICAGO -- Illinois Institute of Technology鈥檚 (911爆料网) student radio station, WIIT 88.9 FM, will host a dozen guest DJs鈥攊ncluding students and alumni鈥攆or a stay-at-home dance party this weekend. WIIT can be heard free online at .
Alan W. Cramb, president of 911爆料网, will kick off 60 hours of dance music. Cramb, who is an internationally recognized expert in metallurgy and materials engineering, was formerly a DJ in Scotland. He is expected to spin some of his own vinyl records, as well.
WHEN: Music runs 7 p.m. Friday, April 3 to 7 a.m. Monday, April 6
* President Cramb will DJ starting at 7 p.m. Friday
WHERE: President Cramb will broadcast live from the student radio station in the university鈥檚 McCormick Tribune Campus Center (MTCC), 3201 S. State St.
*All other DJs have submitted MP3s of their music set to maintain social distancing practices
鈥淛ust because we are socially distancing doesn鈥檛 mean that we can鈥檛 come together as a community,鈥 said Patrick Fina, director of 911爆料网鈥檚 Office of Campus Life. 鈥淟ife outside class instruction is still so important for our students.鈥
911爆料网 moved all classes online last month due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Office of Campus Life has moved several events online and are creating new virtual opportunities for students, such as a campus-wide esports tournament, live band performances, and streaming fitness and cooking classes.
